The VN-Index fell 0.7% (-9.3 pts) on Friday to close the trading week at 1,332.6. Most large-cap stocks declined, with only four of the VN30 group gaining. Across the index, there were 97 gainers, 233 laggards, and 40 unchanged stocks. Total trading volume increased from the previous trading day to USD857.6mn.
* There were no gainers in the banking sector. CTG (-1.5%), BID (-1.2%), VCB (-0.5%), TCB (-1.1%), and VPB (-1.1%) were among the top ten most impactful laggards on the index.
* Some of the bright spots in the market were real estate tickers VIC (+1.4%), VHM (+0.9%), NVL (+1.4%), and NLG (+0.7%). In contrast, BCM (-2.6%), KBC (-2.4%), and SIP (-3.4%) plunged.
* Oil & gas stocks BSR (-2.8%), PLX (-1.1%), and PVD (-2.4%) sharply declined for the second consecutive day.
* Notable laggards in other sectors included retailer MWG (-3.4%), airline HVN (-3.5%), rubber producer GVR (-2.4%), food & beverage conglomerate MSN (-2.2%), and industrial firm GEE (-4.0%).
