Market wrap: Trading turnover drops, but VN-Index notches sixth straight gaining session

On Tuesday, the VN-Index recorded its sixth consecutive positive session, closing up by two-tenths of a percent. However, trading turnover on HOSE dropped nearly 28% from Monday to USD623.8mn.  

* Steelmaker HPG (+2.4%) hit a 52-week high and was the top contributor to the day’s gain. 

* Vingroup tickers VRE (+2.8%), VHM (+0.7%) and VIC (+0.4%) were among the day’s leading contributing gainers. 

* PVT (+6.8%) surged to the daily trading ceiling, reaching a 52-week high. 

* Bank TCB (-1.0%) fell, ending a run of five straight positive sessions.
