Market wrap: VN-Index snaps eight-session winning streak

The VN-Index dropped 1.3% on Monday, ending an eight-session winning streak as 22 of the large-cap VN30 Index’s components finished lower. 

* Most banks were down, led by VCB (-3.3%), ACB (-3.6%), VPB (-2.3%), CTG (-2.0%) and MBB (-2.3%). * On the other hand, HDB (+3.1%) climbed for its seventh consecutive session. 

* VIC (-2.5%) and its subsidiaries VHM (-3.4%) and VRE (-1.6%) declined. 

* GAS (-1.5%) snapped a four-session winning streak. 

* Steelmaker HPG (+1.2%) was the day’s top contributing gainer.
