The VN-Index sunk 1.1% on Monday as market sentiment worsened after China reported an uptick in new coronavirus cases. Trading value on HOSE slumped to USD118.4mn – well-below the one-month average of USD169.5mn. Banks weighed heavily on the index with BID (-5.0%), VCB (-1.2%), and VPB (-3.0%) falling, among others. VRE (-2.8%) retreated after it jumped 10.5% in the previous two sessions. VHM (-0.9%) and VIC (-0.6%) were also among the day’s top contributing decliners.
