Market wrap: VN-Index rebounds 2.4% following Wall Street rally

On Wednesday, the VN-Index ended a two-day losing streak as it rallied 2.4% following a strong session on Wall Street overnight. Nevertheless, trading turnover on HOSE was low at just USD394.4mn.

* VHM (+6.3%) and its parent company VIC (+5.3%) were the top two contributors to the day’s gain.

* Banks CTG (+6.0%) and BID (+2.6%) rebounded after respectively plunging 10.6% and 8.5% over the previous two days. In addition, EIB (+6.9%) surged to the daily trading ceiling, snapping a three-session losing streak. On the other hand, ACB (-0.9%) was the day’s top contributing decliner.

* Steelmaker HPG (+1.9%) recorded its first gain since September 22.
