Market wrap: VN-Index kicks off August with 2.1% gain
The VN-Index jumped 2.1% on Monday with trading turnover HOSE jumping to USD693.5mn as nearly all sectors experienced strong gains.
* Banks were up across the board, led by VCB (+3.1%), BID (+4.6%), CTG (+5.5%), MBB (+3.3%) and TCB (+1.8%).
* Steelmaker HPG (+6.0%) increased for the third straight session.
* GVR (+3.3%) has increased 8.6% over the last four trading days.
* VIC (+1.1%) and its subsidiary VRE (+3.6%) climbed.
