As investors returned from the four-day weekend, the VN-Index traded in negative territory for most of Wednesday's session, but rallied in the afternoon to touch 603 before sliding to close up 0.7 points, or 0.12%, to 599.07. The market was dragged higher mostly by VNM (+2.2%), which added 1.8 points to the index. Other top gainers were HPG (+4.5%) and MSN (+1.4%). Weighing on the market were VIC (-2.9%), GAS (-1.0%) and BID (-1.1%).
