After a sharp sell-off in US markets overnight, the VN-Index opened lower on Wednesday and was down as much as 1.2% in the first half hour of trading. However, the index recovered, and even traded in positive territory in the afternoon, before closing down two tenths of a percent. Losses in large cap names, led by VNM (-2.6%), VHM (-1.1%) and SAB (-1.0%), pushed the market lower. Most banks rose modestly, including BID (+1.4%), CTG (+0.8%), VCB (+0.4%) and TCB (+0.7%).
