Market wrap: Real estate and bank stocks help VN-Index jump 2.6%

On Monday, the VN-Index jumped 2.6% — its biggest single-day increase so far this year — as real estate and banking stocks performed well.

* VHM (+4.4%) was the top contributor to the day’s gain. Additionally, fellow real estate developers NVL (+6.9%), DIG (+6.7%), DXG (+6.7%) and PDR (+6.8%) surged.

* Banks were strong, led by BID (+3.0%), VPB (+5.8%), CTG (+2.7%), MBB (+4.4%) and ACB (+4.0%).

* Steelmaker HPG (+4.3%) has increased 8.4% over the last five trading days.
