The VN-Index closed up three points, or 0.5%, to 577.1, regaining three out of the four points it lost yesterday. The increase was led by leading bank stocks, but it still could not break through 580. VCB demonstrated its leading position in the bank sector by rising 2.9% today to extend its winning streak to three consecutive sessions. In fact, it was today's top index contributor and accounted for more than half of today's index gains. BID also rose 1.1% while MBB, ACB and CTG were flat.
